The most detailed and complete way to play the Pandemic board game
Each game turn is divided into 3 basic parts:
- Do 4 actions
- Draw 2 player cards
- Spreading disease in the city
Once one player has finished infecting the cities with the disease, the player to their left moves on.
All participants should discuss and offer help to make the atmosphere more interesting. However, whose turn it is, that person will decide for themselves.
Players have City and Event cards. In particular, city cards are only used in certain actions and Event cards can be used at any time.
Act
Players can take up to 4 actions per turn.
Choose any of the actions. You can perform an action multiple times, each time is counted as 1 action. Depending on the skills of each character, it can be done in different ways.
Draw additional player cards
After completing 4 actions, the player continues to draw 2 more cards from the player’s pile. If a player is about to draw but the pile of cards is only 1, the game is over and that player will lose.
In the draw, if you immediately choose the infected card, take the following steps:
- Increase movement speed: Move the infection marker on the scale forward 1 space.
- Infection: Draw the bottom card on the stack of infection cards. Then add up to 3 disease blocks to the city printed on that leaf.
- Increased infection rate: Have a discard pile of infection cards, shuffle them, then place on the remaining set of infection cards.
If 8 types of epidemics occur at the same time, there are not enough disease blocks when needed and there are not enough player cards left, you will lose.
Game over
The player wins as soon as he finds a way to cure all 4 diseases. Once all diseases are cured, the game ends and the player wins immediately, regardless of how many cubes are on the board.

3. Examples and notes when playing Pandemic
For example: In the first turn, Anna performed 4 actions including:
- Driving from Atlanta to Chicago.
- Then, drive to San Francisco city for treatment.
- Eliminate a green disease block in the city of San Francisco.
- Anna continued to treat the disease in San Francisco for the second time, continuing to remove the blue mass.
Thus, Anna has completed all 4 actions in 1 turn of play.
Note:
- You do not draw a replacement card after drawing a Plague card.
- You can think about and predict a new treatment method at any Research Station and the color of the city does not necessarily match the disease being treated.
- During your turn, you can take a card from another player, if both are in the same city and match the card you are holding.
- Your card limit is applied immediately after receiving a card from another player.
